PLEASE NOTE: A RECENT FULL EYE EXAMINATION IS REQUIRED FOR US TO PERFORM A CONTACT LENS AFTERCARE. A CURRENT SIGNED PRESCRIPTION IS PROOF OF THIS.

CONTACT LENS AFTERCARE £55.00

For existing wearers of contact lenses. Vision with the contact lenses is checked and a full refraction is performed to see if any adjustment in the prescription is required to ensure the optimum standard of vision. The fit of the lens is then examined under high magnification to ensure that it is sitting correctly, the coverage is correct and the lens is moving correctly. The lens surface is also carefully examined for damage, deterioration and infiltrates that may present serious problems if left unaddressed. With the lenses then removed a close examination of the anterior surfaces and structures of the eye is made, assessing the eye surface checking for subtle wearing damage or erosion that may lead to long term sustained problems. This is often done with a fluorescein stain, so current spectacles will be needed at the appointment. We also assess the performance of the lenses themselves and may offer free trials of the latest technology lenses as they become available. This cost includes unlimited repeat visits for the next 12 months.

NEW CONTACT LENS FITTING £125.00

For spectacle wearers who would like to wear contact lenses for the first time. The cost includes a full eye examination including Ophthalmoscopy, pressure testing and visual fields if required. After a full discussion on the various types of lenses that may be suitable, a full trial fitting is performed using various lenses with as many visits as required to ensure that the chosen type of lenses provide the best wearing and visual comfort possible. We will always offer the latest and best performing lenses for trial. Contact lens case and cleaning solutions are supplied, training in handling the lenses is given, including their insertion and removal, and cleaning and care regimes. Also, any repeat visits to ensure that the lenses are comfortable and safe to wear, are included in the cost for the first twelve months.
